A Glassculpt portrait is made at two square sizes, 30 or 50 cm on a side, in the same glass, linen and walnut. The 30 suits a hallway, a shelf or the wall by the stairs and starts at $139; the 50 holds its own above a sofa or a sideboard. Pick by the wall, not the subject.

What are the two sizes?
Two squares, 30 and 50 cm on a side, each in the walnut shadow box. The build is the same at either size: layered glass in relief on natural linen, with the eyes given the most time.

Which size for which wall?
Choose by how far away you will stand. Close and in passing, the 30; from across a room, the 50.
The 30 × 30 cm piece is the studio's suggestion for a hallway, a shelf or the wall by the stairs: places where you pass within arm's length and the relief reads at that distance. The 50 × 50 cm piece holds its own above a sofa or a sideboard, where the whole wall is in view and a smaller piece would read as a detail. The hanging guide goes room by room.
Does the subject change the size?
Not on its own. One pet, one person, or two close together are all drawn to the same square; what changes is how much of the square each face gets.
Two faces share the square, so each is smaller than one face alone would be. At 50 × 50 cm each of them has more room, which is worth weighing for a couple or a mother and daughter; a single pet fills the 30 comfortably. The design is drawn before you choose, so you see the faces in the square first.
Is the price or the timing different at the larger size?
The price, yes; the time, no figure of its own. The 30 × 30 cm piece starts at $139, the 50 × 50 cm price is shown live beside it, and the delivery estimate for the order is shown before you pay.
Every price on the site comes from the live product, not from this page, so the figure in the buy box is the one that applies. The checkout adds the shipping and any duties for your address, and no card is charged before that step.
How do I choose the size when ordering?
After the design is drawn. Upload a photo on the create page, see the portrait in glass in about a minute, then pick the size in the buy box before you approve and add it to the bag.
The same choice is on every catalogue piece and ready design in the shop. Whichever you pick, the piece arrives in its walnut shadow box, ready to hang; what it is made of, at either size, is on the materials page.
Questions this leaves
Is there a size between the two?
No. The portrait is made at 30 × 30 cm or 50 × 50 cm, both square, and nothing in between. If the wall is between the two, the hanging guide's rule is distance: close and in passing, the 30; across a room, the 50.
Is the frame the same on both?
Yes. Both sizes are finished in the dark walnut shadow box, deep enough to hold the relief and fitted for hanging, and both are built the same way: glass cut to shape, placed by hand and layered on natural linen.
Can I change the size after ordering?
The approved design is what gets built and the piece is not returnable, so settle the size before you approve. If you are unsure, ask the studio first; someone replies, generally the same day.
Does a name or a quote need the larger size?
No. A name of up to 20 characters or a quote of up to 80 is worked into the design beneath the portrait at either size. You see it in the drawn design before you choose, so if the lettering looks crowded you can shorten it and draw again, free.
