The design takes about a minute: upload a photo and Tedooo draws it in glass while you wait. The finished portrait takes about five weeks door to door, 32–36 days at the time of writing, and the estimate for your own order is shown before you pay. For Christmas, order by 19 November.

How long until I see the design?
About a minute. Upload a photo on the create page and Tedooo's design technology draws the portrait in glass while the bar runs; the result is shown below the room, hung on the wall.
Drawing is free and needs no card. Edit the name or swap the photo and let it draw again, as often as needed; the clock on the finished piece starts only once a design is approved and paid for.
How long until the piece arrives?
About five weeks door to door. Today the estimate reads 32–36 days, and the figure for your own order is shown before you pay.
| Stage | How long |
|---|---|
| Drawing the design | About a minute |
| Approving and checking out | As long as you like; the card is not touched before checkout |
| Cutting, layering, mounting and framing | Inside the delivery estimate |
| Shipping, tracked end to end | Inside the delivery estimate |
| Door to door | About five weeks; 32–36 days today |
When does the clock start?
When the payment clears. Cutting waits for that, and the card is not touched before Tedooo's checkout, so the weeks begin at checkout, not at the first design.
The estimate is shown before you pay, which is the moment to check it against the date you have in mind. Once the order is in, it is tracked end to end, so you can follow the box from the studio to the door.
- Approve the design that looks like them: the approved design is what gets built
- Pick the size in the buy box, 30 × 30 or 50 × 50 cm
- Check the name, within 20 characters, is spelled as it should be
- Read the delivery estimate beside the price, then check out
Can it be made faster?
The estimate shown before you pay is the one the studio works to, and this page cannot promise a shorter one. If a date is tight, ask before you order; someone replies, generally the same day.
The weeks are the making. Each piece of glass is cut to shape, placed by hand and layered into relief, the eyes last, and then the piece is mounted on linen, framed in its walnut shadow box and packed with its corners protected. The making guide follows the piece stage by stage.
What about Christmas and other dates?
For Christmas, order by 19 November. For any other date, allow about five weeks and read the estimate before you pay.
The holiday designs in the shop police this for you: a holiday design leaves the shop once an order placed today could arrive after the day, so if its card is still showing there is still time. The rest of what to check before sending a piece as a gift is in the gift guide.
Questions this leaves
Why does a glass portrait take weeks?
Because it is built, not printed. Each piece of glass is cut to shape, placed by hand and layered into dimensional relief on linen, the eyes last, then mounted, framed in a walnut shadow box and packed. The drawing takes about a minute; the making takes the weeks.
Will I get tracking?
Yes. Every piece carries tracking from the studio bench to your door, and the order page shows where it is. If it is going to someone else as a gift, you keep the tracking even though the box does not come to you.
Does the size change the lead time?
The estimate is shown per order before you pay, for the size you chose, and today it reads 32–36 days. Both sizes are built the same way, so the honest answer is the figure in the buy box rather than a rule of thumb.
Does the time spent drawing count towards the weeks?
No. Drawing the design is free and takes about a minute each time, and you can draw as many as you like before approving one. The weeks begin when you check out and the payment clears, because that is when the glass is cut.
